CHA provides homes for almost 1,500 households in its state and federal family public housing developments, located throughout the City. To build a sense of pride and commitment in these communities, CHA supports a policy of resident participation in various phases of decision-making, and encourages a sense of responsibility between neighbors.
To further promote a stable environment, CHA and family housing residents work in partnership with community organizations to provide services such as daycare programs, health clinics, a youth center and an art center as well as after-school programs.
Many developments have Tenant Councils and the Alliance of Cambridge Tenants (ACT) actively participates in CHA policy and modernization decisions, particularly those that call for comprehensive housing redesigns. Residents can learn more about participating in resident government and all of the services CHA offers in the Community Resources section of the website.
