Update on the Rehabilitation of 5 Western Avenue-October 2011
5 Western Avenue, the former Cambridge Police Headquarters is slated to begin Phase 1 of renovations. The renovated space is planned to become the new offices for The Cambridge Housing Authority, The City of Cambridge Multi-Service Center, The Community Learning Center as well as additional space for the Cambridge Election Commission.
Early Fall marks the start of interior demolition, and abatement as well as replacement of utility lines at the site. This early work is expected to be completed by the end of the calendar year 2011, with hard construction of the various offices beginning in January 2012.
