The CHA believes that it is of vital importance to build strong, collaborative relationships with its public housing residents. In contributing to that goal, the Resident Services Department operates a broad variety of services that assist youth and adults in developing the broad competencies necessary to secure upward mobility in a rapidly changing economy. Services for adults currently include on-site basic education classes, on-site community computer centers and instruction, career counseling, job search assistance, scholarships for vocational training, and a Bridge-to-College adult college prep program. Services for youth include five on-site Headstart/Daycare Centers, a city-run youth center, a Boys and Girls Club program site, and The Work Force, a comprehensive five-year educational enrichment and work-readiness program for Cambridge public housing teens.
